Privacy Policy

Last updated: September 9, 2026 · Effective date: September 9, 2026

DeblurLab (“we”, “us”) takes your privacy seriously. This Privacy Policy applies to every application we publish and to our website at deblurlab.com.

In short

  • Our apps do not collect personal information, and no data is ever sent to our servers.
  • Everything our apps handle stays on your device.
  • We do not include any third-party analytics, advertising, or crash-reporting SDKs.
  • You never need an account or a login to use our apps.

1. Applies to all of our apps

Information we do not collect

We do not collect any of the following through our apps:

  • Contact details such as your name, email address, or phone number
  • Device identifiers or advertising identifiers
  • Location data
  • App usage, search, or browsing history
  • Payment information

Third-party SDKs

Our apps contain no third-party SDKs for analytics, advertising, crash reporting, or attribution (MMP).

Where data is stored, and for how long

Settings and data handled by our apps are stored only on your device. We do not retain a copy. Deleting the app removes that data along with it.

Accounts

Our apps do not require you to register or sign in.

Payments

Purchases are handled by the Apple App Store. Apple processes your payment details and we have no access to them. Refunds follow Apple’s policies and procedures.

2. BSL Screen Saver (macOS)

This app is declared as “Data Not Collected” under App Privacy in App Store Connect.

Item Purpose Stored Sent off device
Screen appearance settings (logo image, colours, timer, clock display) Remembering the appearance you configured On your device No
Purchase verification result and the time it last succeeded Confirming a valid purchase and allowing continued use while offline On your device No
Exit authentication (optional) Confirming it is you when you dismiss the screen, if you enable it Handled by macOS No
  • Any logo image you load is processed entirely on your device and is never uploaded.
  • Exit authentication uses your macOS device passcode or Touch ID. The operating system performs the check; we neither access nor store your passcode or biometric data.
  • Purchase verification uses Apple’s StoreKit. It happens between your device and Apple, and no information is sent to our servers.

3. Keyboard Noise Notifier (macOS / iOS / watchOS)

This app requests the permissions below in order to function. Everything obtained through these permissions is used on your device only and is never transmitted elsewhere.

Microphone

  • Purpose: measuring how loud your typing is, in decibels, so the app can alert you when it exceeds your threshold.
  • Audio is analysed for loudness in real time and discarded immediately. We do not create or store any recording, and we do not recognise, log, or transmit speech or conversation content.
  • Readings taken on Apple Watch are relative levels, not calibrated absolute decibels.
  • If you decline this permission, the noise measurement feature is unavailable.

Contacts

  • Purpose: letting you choose the sender name and photo shown on the app’s notifications.
  • We use the system-provided contact picker. Only the entry you pick is handed to the app, and we never read or scan your full address book.
  • The selected name and photo are used on your device only and are never transmitted.
  • If you decline this permission, you can still enter a name manually.

Notifications

Notifications are generated locally on your device. Their content is never sent to our servers or delivered remotely.

Accessibility permission — macOS

  • Purpose: determining only whether you are currently typing, so the app can suppress alerts when you are not.
  • We do not record, store, or transmit the keys you press. The app only observes that input is occurring.

Measurement statistics

  • Daily noise statistics are stored on your device.
  • Data moves between apps on the same device through App Groups, and between your iPhone and Apple Watch through Apple’s Watch Connectivity. It never passes through our servers.

Deleting your data

Using the app’s reset function or deleting the app removes all stored settings and statistics.

4. The deblurlab.com website

  • This website consists of static pages. There is no registration, login, or comment feature.
  • We do not set cookies or install tracking scripts to identify visitors.
  • Our hosting provider (Vercel Inc.) may keep its own access logs (IP address, browser information, requested path) to operate and secure the service. Those logs are handled under the provider’s own policy.
  • Links may carry query parameters such as ct or utm_source so we can tell which channel a visit came from. These are used for channel-level counts only and do not identify individuals.
  • To exclude your own visits from those counts, visiting with ?nohit=1 stores a single opt-out value in your browser’s localStorage. Visiting with ?nohit=0 clears it. This value does not identify the visitor and is never sent anywhere.

5. Children’s privacy

Our apps are rated for general audiences. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children.

6. Your rights

Because we do not retain your personal information, we hold no data that could be the subject of an access, correction, deletion, or restriction request. Data stored on your device can be removed completely by deleting the app.

For any question about how we handle data, please use the contact details below.

7. International transfers

We do not collect personal information, so no international transfer of personal data occurs on our part. App distribution and payments are handled by Apple, and website hosting by Vercel Inc. (United States).

9. Changes to this policy

If we change this Privacy Policy, we will post the updated version on this page and revise the “last updated” date. We will give separate notice through the app or website for material changes.
